Abstract :
An analysis of an array antenna with a reduced number of elements (thin antenna) is presented. The paper concentrates on the antenna with an electronically scanned beam realized by phase shifters, but the results of the analysis and the conclusions are also true for fixed beam antennas. The problem concerns antennas with a reduced number of radiating elements without reducing the aperture size, and antennas with a reduced number of beamforming network channels without reducing the number of radiating elements (semi-thin antennas).
