Abstract
The problem of calculating trajectories for intelligent vehicles in a segment of a single lane roads road in real time can only be solved by heuristic algorithms. This paper presents a methodology to evaluate the efficiency of these algorithms by comparing results to an optimal model. The goal of the algorithms is to reduce the travel time of every vehicle, but especially those vehicles with higher priority. The calculation considers the main elements of the traffic system, such as topography of the lane, traffic rules and individual capacity of acceleration. Experimental tests to evaluate one algorithm are presented.
