Abstract :
It was found that introduction of WO/sub 3/ clusters on the SrTiO/sub 3/:Pr,Al,Ga phosphor surface via a colloid chemical route is effective for reducing the degradation of the SrTiO/sub 3/:Pr,Al,Ga phosphors by electron bombardment. The structural and cathodoluminescent (CL) characterizations demonstrated that the WO/sub 3/ coating on the phosphors served as protective layers retarding the surface-related degradation, which is critically important for the development of commercial vacuum fluorescent displays (VFDs).
