Abstract
Summary form only given. We have investigated electronic transport phenomena through thin Langmuir-Blodgett heterostructures of several metal complexes of phtalocyanines. The structures were of the form electrode/organic heterolayer/electrode, both electrodes of the same material. By varying the central metal atom in the phtalocyanine-system it is possible to finetune the HOMO/LUMO transitions, allowing for the interpretation of rectifying behavior and resonant tunneling effects. For such measurements it is important to avoid the influence of pin holes and impurities of the organic film. Therefore we first used microstructured electrodes for both, in-plane and through the-film measurements. Furthermore the LB-films were prepared in a clean room under inert gas and red light conditions.
