Abstract :
All previously reported derivations of averaged models for current-mode controlled switching power converters require geometrical calculations based on a sketch of the inductor current. The formalism of variable structure control theory provides a systematic procedure for deriving an averaged model, without this requirement. The new and conventional models are compared
