Abstract
Size estimation whose accuracy is directly related to success of software project is the key content of software project management. FPA is a method to estimate size and has been used widely, but there are many problems in it. To improve estimation accuracy, a new method is proposed which estimate sizes using FPA based on UML for objects having no similar objects in historical data and paired comparison is used for other objects. FPA based on UML is used to solve complexity of FPA, Paired comparison is used to solve problems which do not reflect the trends of today´s software engineer. The analogy objects are chosen based on case-based reasoning, and the relative sizes are calculated using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation for estimation by experts.
