Abstract :
Power/GND-system simulation together with decoupling analysis on PCB level is mandatory in order to reach shorter development times of electric and electronic components and to prevent malfunctioning of future products. The partial elements equivalent circuit (PEEC) method is applied for modeling general PCB power-ground layouts. In order to overcome the continuously increasing complexity of the resulting models, a combination of moment-matching via Krylov subspace projection and SVD-based truncated balanced realization is applied for reducing the order of the PEEC models. The method of modeling and model reduction is demonstrated by means of a practical example.
