Abstract :
This paper discusses the electromagnetic compatibility of ultra wide band (UWB) 24 GHz short range radar (SRR) with the fixed satellite services (FSS) and broadcasting satellite services (BSS) in region 1. The out-of-band emissions of SRR in the FSS and BSS frequency bands, as per FCC guidelines, are used for the study. The ITU recommendations on available protection margins and apportionment ratios are used for estimating the interference values of SRR emissions. The interference study for co-existence of proposed SRR systems with existing FSS/BSS systems is done for a single vehicle scenario.
