Abstract :
In the current UHF RFID standards, there is no specific recommendation for the error correction capability. Whenever the CRC operation detects errors while receiving the EPC code from tags, the unidentified tags must participate in the next inventory round again. The identification rate then becomes significantly degraded. In this paper, we propose an error correction method on the return link for the purpose of improving the identification rate, without disturbing the existing standards. Computer simulation results are included in order to verify the validity of the proposed method.
