Abstract :
The authors have shown that the phase-matching requirements for nonlinear Bragg scattering can be relaxed by utilizing a sequence of independent scattering events. The ability to mimic a higher-order nonlinear process through a cascade of χ(3) processes may find applications in nonlinear optical signal processing.
