Abstract
In this paper a reduce-order extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm is developed for the rotor flux oriented sensorless vector control of induction motors (IMs). The algorithm using measured stator currents involves the estimation of the rotor resistance, rotor flux, angular velocity and load torque. Simulation results show that the proposed method has a good performance to that of the similar full order estimator, while achieving a significant reduction in computation complexity and time.
