Abstract
This presentation describes the reasons for, and history of, the emergence of ISA-95, including how it relates to other enterprise integration standards such as ISA-88, ISA 99, and various ISO, IEC, and CEN standards. It sets the stage for the wide application of ISA-95 and describes additional standards which have evolved around it. Finally, it discusses how ISA-95 may be integrated with traditional project engineering and systems development methodologies, to provide an overall master planning approach for ICD (industrial control domain) and MES (manufacturing execution systems)
