Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel synchronization algorithm for multiuser digital impulse radio (IR) ultra-wideband (UWB) system. The proposed algorithm is based on pseudo-noise (PN) training sequence, and different users employ different PN sequences. To reduce the overhead of the preamble, monocycle pulse is used to modulate one bit information of training sequence. The proposed scheme includes acquisition and timing (fine synchronization) algorithms. Acquisition and coarse channel estimation are firstly gotten. After that, timing and channel estimation can be derived at the same time naturally through energy searching. In multipath channel, no interference among the pulses inner preamble is guaranteed and inter frame interference (IFI) inner one symbol during payload transmitting is allowed. At receiver, demodulation template is derived by combining the channel estimation according to time hopping (TH) code. Correlation detection can be carried out to demodulate the data. Simulation results validate the proposed scheme.
