  • Abstract
    A WDM transmission of 3×400-Gb/s superchannels in a 62.5-GHz flexible-grid over 452 km of pure-silica core fiber with erbium-doped fiber amplification and two reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer passes is demonstrated. A coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing technique was used to form 4×100-Gb/s subcarriers per superchannel via 16-QAM and polarization division multiplexing, resulting in a 6.4 b/s/Hz spectral efficiency.
