Abstract :
Various measures were taken during the oilfield development process, and an important indicator of the effectiveness of a measure is the recoverable reserves it increased. Since the oilfield development process is the combination of multiple measures, it´s difficult to identify the value of increased recoverable reserves for each measure. Based on the material balance principle, this paper gives an approach to calculate the value of increased recoverable reserves of single measure by solving equations. This approach can identify the value of recoverable reserves increased by single measure of all reservoir and development period; we also point out the problems we should pay attention to during the application of the approach. Practical development information of oilfields shows that the calculation precision is above 99.1%. This approach has clear principles, simple calculation, strong reliability, and it´s worthy of being popularized and applied to predict the increased recoverable reserves during High Water Cut Development Period.
