Abstract :
We are in the midst of communication revolution and the last two decades have witnessed an explosion in new telecommunication technologies and services. This paper describes the features of the wireless radio network (WRN) and its applications in the Indian telecom network both in rural and secondary switching areas. The WRN system comprises of a mobile switching centre which houses the cellular controller unit, a radio base station and a wireless subscriber unit. The discussion touches upon the design, implementation, operation and maintenance aspects of the wireless radio network
