Abstract :
This paper presents an optimization procedure and results to optimize a pneumatic system used as transferring and stacking equipment for solid freeform fabrication system. The pneumatic system has been modeled and genetic algorithm has been applied to optimize the design parameters of the pneumatic system such as cylinder area and volume under compression. The design parameters should be optimized to obtain the fast and stable dynamic characteristics and the results has shown desired performance was obtained.
