Abstract
The development of MMOGs encompasses many technical challenges - ensuring consistency and fault-tolerance, administration of servers and players, preventing cheating, providing scalability, and many others. The peer-to-peer MMOG is now an active research area especially to effectively integrate users to perform message, i.e. game state, relaying task. This paper presents a novel state sharing mechanism for peer-to-peer MMOGs. To expedite state sharing tasks, it opportunistically uses players´ idle resources. The performance of a peer-to-peer MMOG can be improved through the integration of the proposed approach.
