Title :
Direct writing of channel waveguide on a tellurite glass using a focused ultraviolet laser beam
Author :
Moro, Alessandro
Abstract :
Direct writing with a 244 nm doubled frequency Ar-ion laser has been applied to a tellurite bulk glass to increase locally the refractive index. Channel waveguides have been fabricated and have been characterised using the near field pattern (NFP) method for refractive index profile measurement. Tellurite waveguides represent a useful device to realise passive and active devices, based on their excellent qualities as non-linear and hosting materials.
