Abstract :
A hybrid technique combining the discrete partial eigenfunction expansion (PEE) algorithm with 3D FDTD analysis m cylindrical coordinates is presented. The new technique is applicable to structures that have to be analyzed using a full 3D formulation but can also be divided into axial symmetric and not symmetric regions. Efficiency of PEE and versatility of 3D formulation are combined, and significant increase in efficiency, in terms of reduction of size of the problem and shorter simulation time is achieved.
