Abstract
The design process of the state machine controller using PLDs (programmable logic devices) for industrial applications is shown, and an example is provided. In this example, the authors started with the logical concept of the controller and synthesized the controller onto a single chip. This new trend of sequential digital circuit design and fabrication is quickly replacing the conventional error-prone methods
