Abstract
The paper is focused on WiMAX-networks technical and economic assessment of the future deployment perspectives for fixed wireless access for metropolitan areas on the example of Kiev city, Ukraine. The paper includes an overview of IEEE 802.16 standard technical features and existing empirical propagation models. The visions towards to WiMAX-networks deployment are examined; technical and economical analysis (CAPEX, OPEX, and ROI) is carried out.
