Abstract :
Self-similar triangular Sierpinski and Parany monopoles are known as multiband antennas. In this work, a new antenna whose input impedance has broadband and multiband behaviour has been obtained modifying the traditional One-Stage Parany monopole. This new antenna was achieved adjusting the traditional Parany monopole dimensions by means of the use of the self-similar triangular monopoles resonant properties. As a result, the input impedance of the proposed antenna is less sensitive to frequency changes in the UWB band (3.1 -10.6 GHz) than the input impedance of the traditional One-Stage Parany monopole. Besides, the proposed antenna matches better to the 50 Ohm feeding line in such band than the traditional bowtie monopole and than the traditional One-Stage Parany monopole. Moreover, the proposed antenna shows three bandwidths for VSWR < 3 and two of them are wider than the traditional One-Stage Parany monopole bandwidths. Specifically, the proposed antenna shows such bandwidths from 0.57 GHz to 0.97 GHz, from 1.81 GHz to 2.31 GHz and from 2.96 GHz to 11 GHz.
