Abstract :
Metamaterials built from chiral meta-atoms have attracted huge attention in the last years. The main interest in our work is focused on the investigation of a single chiral nano-structure and its interaction with circularly polarized light. Such an object is fabricated on an ITO-on-glass substrate using electron-beam-induced deposition (EBID) [1]. This technique allows for high precision fabrication of 3D subwavelength structures of almost arbitrary geometry. In the writing process, metal-organic precursor molecules (dimethyl-gold(III)-acetyl-acetonate) are cracked by a focused electron beam resulting in a material containing gold nanoclusters embedded into carbonaceous matrix (see Fig. 1).
