Abstract :
The results of development of W-band phased antenna array (PAA) elements with Faraday type phase shifters is shown. Crosstie dimensions of elements allow constructing wide-angle scanning PAA. The design of wide-angle scanning phased array antenna elements with electrically beam scanning is one of the main problems of W-band radio systems. The PAA elements might be constructed on open or metallizing ferrite rods. The first one has crosstie dimensions larger than required. In case of metallized ferrite rod cross tie dimension might be decreased. Basic calculations show that it is possible to construct PAA element with 0,7 lambda. The designed element might be installed in the PAA scanning at plusmn37deg angle sector.
