  • Abstract
In order to improve the photovoltaic performance of the dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs), a double layered TiO2 film was prepared and used as the photoelectrode of DSCs. The double layered TiO2 film consists of a layer of the low crystallinity TiO2 composed of interconnected spherical particles with an average size of 20nm and a layer of the nanocrystalline Anatase. The photovoltaic characteristics of DSCs with the double layered TiO2 photoelectrode were evaluated. By using this double layered structure, a high short circuit photocurrent (Isc) of 21.98mA/cm2 was obtained and the overall light-to-electricity efficiency (η) was enhanced by 44% comparing with the pure Anatase nanocrystalline film under the same conditions.
