Abstract :
This paper assesses economic feasibility of utilizing the straw residues for vacuum pyrolysis. A research method has been constructed to analyze the heat transfer, heat balance calculation is conducted based on the laboratory experiment using wheat straw as feedstock. It is pointed out that the vacuum pyrolysis is a potential thermo-chemical conversion technology to improve the utilization of biomass. The economic analysis indicates that $23 benefit is generated based on one ton straw consumed. Different straw application, such as hydrogen production and power generation were carried out, and the results implies that vacuum pyrolysis of straw is one of the most feasible way to realize energy regeneration.
