Cordless access to the ISDN basic rate service

The authors present a scheme to access the basic rate service of ISDN using the DECT radio interface standard. The S-interface in the ISDN reference configuration has been used for the ISDN interface and the unprotected class 0 transmission for DECT. The design of a suitable interworking unit is described which endeavours to make the use of DECT transparent to the ISDN equipment. The design has been simulated and the results presented quantity the overall quality of the link for varying qualities of radio channel
