  • Abstract
    A novel compact stacked patch antenna with a folded patch feed is presented for Ultrawideband (UWB) application. The bandwidth is obtained by rectangular patch stacked with H shape rectangular patch, fed with a folded patch feed and the size reduction is realized through the use of shorting wall. The new design achieves an impedance bandwidth of 111.08% across the frequency range of 3.39 GHz-11.86 GHz. The antenna occupies a compact dimension of 0.432 lambdag by 0.381 lambdag by 0.229lambdag (lambdag is the wavelength of center operating frequency). Antenna pattern shows good performance with consistent radiation patterns, and considerable gain over entire frequency band. The design method and the parametric studies are also described.
