Abstract
We present a framework to study the behavior and properties of cosmological structures called dark matter halos. As part of the framework, we build an evolution history, called halo merger trees, which follows the evolution of the halos over time. The entire process from tracking to building the merger tree is performed in parallel and in situ with the underlying cosmological N-body simulation.
