Abstract
The growth in the deployment of wireless networks has been driven by the need for ubiquitous service and rapid deployment of telecommunications infrastructure. This paper describes several network topologies and architectures to illustrate wireless systems and their applications. A comparison is made of the radio access technologies available for these systems. A review of the key enabling technologies which support the introduction of these networks is provided
