Abstract :
A method directed by the probability theory is provided in this paper to calculate the end-to-end service availability, including the case that the two nodes are connected directly, and the case that the two nodes are connected by a network that is composed of some parallel and series lines. This is useful when we design the network topology because in many cases, it is more accurate and simpler compared with other methods such as computer simulation and the Markov model.
