Abstract :
Previous work on the solid solution x.PbZrO3[PZ]-y. Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 [PZN]-z.PbTiO3 [PT] (PZNT) has shown a DC-field-induced ferroelectric-antiferroelectric (AF-FE) transition. The authors explore the electrical field dependence of the elastic constant (sE 11), piezoelectric coefficient (d31), and dielectric constant (K33) near this phase transition. Hysteresis results indicate that the location of the AF-FE boundary is between x=92.8% and x=93.2% PZ. Room-temperature dielectric constants near 250 have been measured and can be altered with suitable compositional adjustments. The PZZN phase diagram (PZNT with 0 mol.% PT) has been refined, showing that the AF-FE boundary at room temperature is PZZN(93.2) and PZZN(93.0)
