Abstract :
The results of comparative analysis of a modulated lapped transform algorithm for the JPEG standard are presented. It is shown that the algorithm application results in improvement of the quality characteristics of the reconstructed signal while preserving compression rate. An algorithm for the modulated lapped transform is proposed, which enables us to increase the exactness of data coding signal reconstruction based on the spectral transform. Results of the comparative analysis of two algorithms are presented: the modulated lapped transform algorithm and a fast algorithm for the discrete cosine transform of one- and two-dimensional signals.
