Abstract
Based on the marking and hierarchy of movements of digital humans and its skeletal subsystems and with help of the algorithm of transformation of objects in space, the movement chains of digital humans are analyzed. The movement control methods with forward and inverse kinematics for digital humans are discussed with emphasis, and the processes of controlling and realizing of these two methods with the algorithm are elaborated. For the specific purpose of digital human in automotive ergonomic design, a mixed strategy and process for controlling movements of digital humans, which employs both forward kinematics and inverse kinematics for different chain parts of a complex chain, is put forth and used in controlling the complex chains in digital humans to improve the manipulability and effectiveness
