A secured distributed medical application endowed with image processing facilities

This paper depicts some major aspects involved in an on-line management process of multimedia data, emphasizing the security elements and proposed solutions for protecting the static images. The techniques have been embedded into a distributed medical application that uses the most up-to-date distributed programming concepts and technologies for managing the patients´ textual and imagistic (DICOM and JPEG) data. The entire application was developed upon a previously implemented framework that supports an entire range of web distributed applications.
