Abstract :
Segmentation of skin color is crucial in the pre-processing stage of many image processing applications such as face detection, face recognition, body gesture, body gait analysis, etc. Traditionally, skin color segmentation is performed in local computing environment with sufficient computational power to handle this easy task. With the emergence of numerous computing applications in mobile devices such as mobile phones, it is believed that image processing applications such as face recognition will one day become a core application in mobile devices. Thus, this research is focused in applying skin color segmentation as a preprocessing stage in mobile platform. Segmentation of skin color is done in Mobile Python PyS60 and performance of such application is analyzed and discussed.
