Abstract :
VHDL-AMS has been standardized in March 1999. Waited for a long time by every body, Industry as well as University, the language is beginning a career which we hope as successful as VHDL whose standard appears in 1987, followed by another one in 1993. We want to show in this paper that VHDL-AMS Is not only a language, but also a "philosophy", that could be very helpful for designing multi-technological systems and by combining both methods: Top-Down and Bottom-Up methods. For that, we start from the concept that VHDL-AMS modeling can be done according three categories of models: functional, behavioral and structural, and physical. Examples, some of them unexpected, will be given in each category. We then suggest a methodology for designing any multi-technological system by using these models and by making go and return (Yo-yo method) between Top-Down and Bottom-Up methods.
