  • Abstract
Multiple scattering by plasma cylinders with a plane wave is investigated rigorously by applying boundary value method that verifies validity with finite element method simultaneously, based upon the properties of electromagnetic wave transmitted in the argon plasma by cathode discharge. Approximate expressions for the far field, considering the interaction between the plasma cylinders, are derived briefly after some mathematical manipulations. Sample numerical results are presented for the cases of different plasma densities, different plasma collisions, and incidence with different striking angles, frequencies, and dissimilar forms of plasma arrays. Comparisons of the scattering distributions are given in detail to demonstrate the characteristics of plasma arrays.
