Abstract :
Multilevel converters are power electronics system models not well defined; however, there are parameter variation problems. The model is multivariable, complex, and nonlinear. To combat such problems, various adaptive control techniques have been proposed. Fuzzy control doesn´t strictly need any mathematical model plant. It is based on operator experience and heuristics, and it is easy to apply. This control is basically an adaptive and nonlinear control which gives robust performance for a nonlinear plant with complex behavior. Using MATLAB fuzzy logic toolbox, practical experience, and heuristics, a control algorithm of a multilevel converter based on a fuzzy control is presented in this paper. A complete fuzzy inference process to control the converter is shown. Simulation results show that the implemented fuzzy control algorithm is a good adaptive control
