Abstract
A newly automated acquisition system had been developed to obtain chromatographic data from High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and is known as the Automated Acquisition for Chromatogram Storage System (AMCOS). AMCOS obtains the data, known as raw data, from HPLC through a DAQ board. Raw data has spikes and noise and to eliminate them, Savitzky-Golay and Median filter were employed. The HPLC has proprietary software, from which a set of chromatogram can be obtained. However, the format of the data does not permit user to do post-processing. This paper presents the comparison results of chromatograms using the four sets of data mentioned earlier. The first three show good correlation, having a less than 15% deviation. The raw data from HPLC´s propriety software is unreliable as the data is not accurate even compare to the plot produced by the software. As such the deviation between this raw data and that from AMCOS varies unpredictably.
