Abstract
Mobile IP provides a flexible mechanism to nodes that travel through different subnets. Bluetooth, on the other hand, is a wireless technology easily available. Take them both together, and the mobility management of the former will nicely merge with the low power consumption of the latter. However, latencies in the underlying procedures may have an undesirable effect upon user applications. Mechanisms to avoid these effects are proposed and evaluated in a combined system
