Abstract :
Studies of the self-second-harmonic-generation (self-SHG) crystal NdxY1-xAl3(BO3)4, or NYAB pumped by the infrared output of a Ti3+:Al2O3 laser are reported. The wavelengths of the pumping laser were from 0.7306 μm to 0.8268 μm. The size of the NYAB crystal 3×3×4 mm3. Type 1 phase matching self-SHG was adopted, and 0.532-μm output was obtained with a NYAB crystal that was uncoated and not inserted in a resonator. The green-light spot was 1 mm in diameter and the diffuse angle was 1.5 mrad. The threshold of the self-SHG of the NYAB crystal was measured
