Abstract
A method is described for calculating AC winding losses in high frequency transformers for cases when one dimensional analytical field solutions are unreliable. This method is particularly applicable to transformers with multiple outputs when the variable loading conditions on the secondaries produce complex leakage flux patterns. The method uses a combination of three dimensional magnetostatic finite element computation and circuit analysis solved by the tensor method to produce reliable results of AC winding losses
