Abstract :
Exact and approximate multipole representations for fields of a horizontal and vertical infinitesimal dipole above an impedance surface are derived from the exact image formulation. This multipole expansion is appropriate for application in the fast multipole method (FMM). The new formulation does not impose any restrictions on the location of source or observation point.
