Abstract :
A parallel strategy for multiple dimensional view re-evaluation (PMDVRES) proposed in this paper integrates incremental view maintenance with view self-maintenance algorithm. Meanwhile, this approach takes advantage of the relevant algorithm to filter out the irrelevant update and decreases the number of messages and data communication effectively. So, it promotes the efficiency of view maintenance significantly. Based on the temporal relation, the approach detects the possible concurrent updates. The updates, which need to be maintained concurrently and incrementally, can be handled by on-line error correction algorithm. Hence, PMDVRES guarantees that all updates committed to the view maintenance layer could be responded in time.
