Abstract
A family of random number generators based onmultistage sigma-delta modulation is presented. These generators require only addition and comparison operations and hence are potentially more efficient than multiplicative generators. On the basis of the complexity and performance of the generators, it is suggested that the fourth-order generator is a good source for random number sequences
