Abstract
The typicality effect is an important finding on the internal structure of concept hierarchies in the field of cognitive psychology. It says that instances of any concept are mentally ordered with respect to their "typicality". The typicality affects mental behaviour of humans. For example, if asked to list up all the instances of a concept, subjects retrieve them in descending order of their typicality. We propose a neural network which demonstrates behaviour consistent with the typicality effect.
