Abstract
The effects of velocity change, refraction and absorption all must be considered for through-the-wall radar, which can displace the target and defocus in imaging. Based on signal propagation model in presence of the wall and the system concept, the relationship is obtained among the transmit signal, target position and the wall transfer function. In this paper, we will present a method to estimate the wall transfer function using the real data and a new wall compensation algorithm based on the inverse system. The new wall compensation algorithm can eliminate the effects of unknown wall parameters very well, which is proved by processing real data collected in a laboratory environment.
