Abstract
The dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) has become attractive to antenna designers in recent years. Two different dielectric resonator antenna configurations are investigated numerically. A coaxial probe excites each of the antenna configurations. The first configuration (stacked top insert DRA) achieves 25% matching and radiation bandwidth. The results of the second configuration (coated bottom insert DRA) will be presented later. The performance of both configurations is found to be similar to the stacked structure.
